This year’s Intel eGames Stage is all about entertainment! Run by gamers for gamers, you’ll see all the big name companies showing off their new unreleased games, over-the-top Guitar Hero competitions, PC build offs, celebrity trivia shows, and more!

Hosted by gaming celebrities Yug and Matt from AustralianGamer.com for the 3rd year now, expect to be entertained at all times on the Intel eGames Stage at eGames 2008.

As well as all the official events listed below, we also have great prizes and segments we will be running on the stage each day, including prizes from Sega and 2K Games to be given away, and special appearances by Yahtzee Croshaw (Zero Punctuation) and Jason Hill (The Age, Screenplay) See below for information, but please note that times and presentations are subject to change.

 

 

FRIDAY, 14th November 2008
1:15pm - 1:30pm Monash University Keynote Speaker: Andrew Owen
Andrew currently develops promotional events and IT/Multimedia based activities for High school students at the Faculty of Information Technology Monash University.

 

1:45pm - 2:00pm Spore Lifesize Competition Winner Thanks to EA and the Herald Sun, competition winner Callum got to have his Spore creature that he created shaped and moulded into a 6 foot tall lifesized creation. Don't miss the official unveiling! Click here to see his creature.

 

2:15pm - 2:45pm Nintendo games showcase Nintendo showcase their latest line up of games for the Nintendo Wii, including Wii Music and Animal Crossing.

 

3:00pm - 3:30pm Intel presentation Kamil Gurgen (Technical Manager) along with Tony Trubridge (Team Immunity) will demonstrate the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processor on stage.

 

3:45pm - 4:15pm Nokia presentation Nokia to showcase unannounced N-Gage products live on stage.

 

4:30pm - 5:00pm Ubisoft games presentation Far Cry 2
Ubisoft will be showing off the Far Cry 2 map editor and its capabilities.

 

5:15pm - 6:00pm Dissecta industry panel Dissecta presents an industry panel featuring respected gaming journalist Jason Hill (Screenplay, The Age) and other panelists to be announced. Topics will range between important issues like the R18+ rating debate, to discussing the pros and cons of game franchises. Dedicated to the memory of Tim Richards.

 

6:15pm - 7:00pm Competitive gaming panel Featuring a collection of the people behind some of the most successful competitive gaming events and communities, find out about how you too can become a professional competitive gamer.


SATURDAY, 15th November 2008
10:45am - 11:15am Atari presentation Tomb Raider Underworld
Atari showcase a live demonstration of an unseen level from the upcoming continuation of the Lara Croft franchise - Tom Raider Underworld.

12:15pm - 12:45pm Riff Wars Guitar Hero TekTime presents the Guitar Hero final on the main stage. Be sure to register by clicking here.

 

1:00pm - 1:30pm Nintendo games showcase Nintendo showcase their latest line up of games for the Nintendo Wii, including Wii Music and Animal Crossing.

 

1:45pm - 2:15pm Disney 'Sing IT' Idol final Funtastic and Disney present the finals of the 'Disney Sing It' competiton. To enter, visit the Kids Zone anytime Saturday between 10am and 1pm to enter. Heaps of prizes up for grabs.

3:15pm - 3:45pm Monash Retro Games Challenge Prepare to get back to your old school roots, as Monash gives people the chance to compete in a multitude of old games on systems from the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo 64. Big prizes for the winners. More details closer to the event.

 

4:00pm - 4:30pm Ubisoft games presentation Far Cry 2
Ubisoft will be showing off the Far Cry 2 map editor and its capabilities.

 

4:45pm - 5:30pm Gaming Trivia Think you know your video games? Come test your knowledge against gaming celebrities and win huge prizes. Hosted by Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation.

 

5:45pm - 6:15pm Game Damage Premiere Exclusive World First showcase of 10 minutes from the pilot of the upcoming gaming TV show featuring Yug, Matt and Yahtzee. More info at www.gamedamage.net

10:15am - 10:45am Primal Clarity Primal Clarity Productions will be running a Imperial league tournament at Egames with the winners battling it out on the main stage for big prizes. Register here to compete in the 2v2 competition and be in the running for cool prizes! .

11:45am - 12:30pm Scorptec PC Build Off Scorpion Technology will be holding another PC Build Off event - do you have what it takes to beat our carry over CHAMP from last year? The aim is to build a computer system as fast as you can, the winner beeing the first person to build the computer system from scratch and have it POST correctly, as tested by our tech department.
